يعج تاريخ البشرية منذ بدايتها بأحداث العنف والقتل والتخريب، والحقيقة المؤكدة أن الإرهاب لا زمان له، فقد عرفته القرون قرناً بعد قرن، وعانت منه الأجيال جيلاً بعد جيل، كما عرفته جماعات تنتمي إلى الديانات القديمة والحضارات السابقة
والفلسفات القديمة.
ولعل في الإشارة إلى تاريخ ظاهرة الإرهاب أو مظاهر العنف الإرهابي في الأزمنة الماضية فائدة لا يمكن إنكارها بالنظر إلى أن إرهاب اليوم وجماعته هو - أو في جزء كبير منه - امتداد لما كان في العصور القديمة من عنف وتطرف، بالإضافة إلى أن دراسة تاريخ ظاهرة الإرهاب هي ضرورة تفرضها مناهج البحث العلمي السليم؛ لأنها تضع أمامها الظروف والحوادث الواقعية التي صاحبت الإرهاب، وكانت مبرراً
ومنطقاً له في آن واحد

The Terrorism constitutes a dangerous criminal phenomenon, and it can even be said that it is the destructive scourge of the age in every sense of the word, because it aims to attack all human societies, and this danger is clearly evident through the destructive thought embraced by terrorists. They believe that their thought is the right one and the rest of the human thoughts are misguided, and therefore they work day and night to get rid of everything that contradicts their thought, even if this requires the destruction of human civilization through brutal criminal acts; The important thing is to spread their thought and establish their integrated system for all aspects of life, which saves humanity from its filth, as they claim! We can imagine the extent of the destruction and devastation caused by terrorist acts, regardless of the degree of their failure, and given the tremendous technical development that provides tremendous positive services to humanity, it appeared on the other side of the mockery of these electronic technologies in committing brutal, devastating crimes that were not known to human beings.
